A few snippets

A few snippets picked up from #occupylsx. The sources seems to be a genuine people, who are simply articulating their concerns.

FOUR WORKING GROUPS CAUSING ME MAJOR CONCERNS:FINANCE- Why are their books not transparent? Although it is impractical for every single claim to be checked over by everyone, each transaction MUST be transparent and viewable in the public domain so that it may be blocked retroactively, so that the error of judgement that led to that finance claim being accepted need not be repeated.

TECH- The technology working group have an agenda apparently best known to themselves. There are usually a number of projects underway that cover a wide range of requirements of the camp, but who is deciding where this team directs their energy? It would appear that they are making these decisions themselves, and often without consulting the wider occupation as to what the camp is in most need of.It is folly to assume that the tech team, due to their background and skills, will necessarily know the best route that the camp should follow in this respect, and also a blatant bypassing of the democratic process.I would propose that the tech team be directed by regular brainstorming sessions among themselves and through general assembly discussion,
PRESS
WEB- We have a web team?

There appears to be a general unwillingness by many people on this site to part with their own cash for equipment needed for the London Occupation's continuing success. Why is this? To put things in some context, I am currently keeping approximately 60% of my worldly belongings (in raw cash value) on site, and most of them are in use. Pretty much everything I have that I think could be useful to the site in any way is here, and available for use by anyone. I'm not going to detail exactly what or where, but you'll have to take my word that what I say is true.I'd like everyone to consider this before making any requests to finance for ANYTHING that is non-crucial to the running of the site. We are NOT government, we do NOT share their corrupt values and we will NOT be seeing our own version of the expenses scandal here, on site. The very fact that we're virtually at risk of exactly this happening is a shame and a disgrace

Also, some of the pressure can be taken off logistics groups by EVERYONE sharing the manual work. It has not gone without notice that the "manual" working groups are overwhelmingly being done by working class people, and the political ones have been monopolised by middle class people. Rather than just reproducing what happens in wider society, we ought to be doing things differently - middle class sharing the manual tasks, giving working class occupiers leisure to go to political meetings (which need to be more accommodating by making process less intimidating).
In any case there are not that many people sleeping at Saint Paul's now
Occupy London has served its purpose in this first phase. The camp is slowly dying. What else will be achieved by hanging on without adapting with a positive attitude?

Looks like downsizing is already under way. I was told last night that finance have stopped cash for several of the service tents and are syphoning it over to the stolen UBS building. Can anyone confirm this. Is this transparent to the working groups?
